KENYA – ROADWORTHINESS INSPECTION (RWI)

Roadworthiness Inspection (RWI) in compliance with KS1515 by Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS)

ATJ conducts Roadworthiness Inspections (RWI) for accredited inspection companies in Japan, Singapore, U.A.E., United Kingdom and South Africa in compliance with both the Kenya Standard KS1515.

There are conformity assessment procedures shall be used to verify that all used motor vehicles (including motorbikes, cars, vans, buses and trucks of all sizes) exported to Kenya are in compliance with KS 1515:2000 before shipment from the supply country. ATJ adheres to the following critical parameters in the standard.

  • The age limit shall be less than 8 years from the year of first registration.
  • The difference between the date of manufacture and the date of first registration shall be not more than one year.
  • The drive shall be Right hand drive (RHD) vehicles.
  • Road Worthiness shall be determined by the compliance of requirements specified in the standard.
